Goyt Cliff Viaduct
Scope of Works
ICS were awarded Goyt Cliff Viaduct repair works by Balfour Beatty Rail in 2014. The works included Grit-blast and Painting of the structure, repairs to longitudinal timbers, some minor masonry repairs and dry stone wall repairs.ICS were required to Grit-blast and Paint the structure and undertake a significant scope of steelwork repairs. We also undertook vegetation and masonry repair works. The structure was fully encapsulated in sections to facilitate the works.
Challenges
The site was in a remote area in the Peak district. We were faced with sensitive public interface issues with both adjacent residents and walkers passing close by the structure. We were also working at height.
